6. FREETOWN CHRISTIANIA
Also known as Christiania, is an intentional community and commune of about 850 to 1,000 residents, covering 7.7 hectares in the borough of Christianshavn. Tourists are very welcome to visit of course, but there are rules. The first rule is zero violence and anything that may promote violence really. Another rule in Christiania is to not run. Running means there’s something to run from or away from, and the culture of fear is something they like to avoid. There’s no cars allowed either, everyone gets around on bikes. You also can’t take pictures. The street art, the food and generally the vibe is definitely different the moment you enter. Obviously a lot of cannabis is freely smoked and a lot of people have rated this place poorly but you need to know what it is and have an open mind before going in. This is a hippie town and they openly grow/sell hash/marijuana. If you have reservations about that, then don’t visit.
